WORCESTER MAN CAUGHT IN ONLINE STING PLEADS GUILTY TO CHILD COMMUNICATION
A decoy, pretending to be a schoolgirl named Ruby, assisted authorities in catching Gary Greenwood, a 63-year-old man from Sugars Lane, Kidderminster, who thought he was communicating with a young girl online.Greenwood pleaded guilty to attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child in Worcester in June of the previous year.
The case was heard at Worcester Magistrates' Court, where Greenwood was granted unconditional bail, with the case adjourned for a pre-sentence report.
He is scheduled for sentencing on September 30 at Kidderminster Magistrates' Court.
Greenwood was also instructed to register as a sex offender at Worcester police station.
