MATTHEW PAGE ARRESTED IN ARBROATH FOR CHILD PORN AND BESTIALITY IMAGES

In December 2018, a disturbing case unfolded involving Matthew Page, a 40-year-old man from Arbroath, who was found in possession of highly illegal and disturbing images depicting child abuse and bestiality. The authorities confirmed that Page was subsequently placed on the sex offenders register following his conviction.

His trial took place at Dundee Sheriff Court, where it was revealed that police had discovered indecent images on four separate devices belonging to him, including a mobile phone. These devices contained explicit material involving children, as well as graphic images of women engaging in sexual acts with animals such as dogs and horses. The nature of these images was deemed extremely disturbing and illegal under current laws.

Prior to the commencement of the trial, Page admitted to breaching bail conditions by possessing two mobile phones, despite being explicitly banned from holding any electronic devices. This breach was uncovered on March 3 when police stopped him on Perth Road in connection with driving offences. It was also established that Page had previously admitted to driving without a full license and without insurance, adding to his record of violations.

During the proceedings, the jury heard that Page had a significant history of convictions, although these were limited to driving offences in Australia, including a disqualification from driving. The court found him guilty of multiple charges, including possessing indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of children at his residence on Burnside Drive between October 2, 2013, and December 6 of the following year. He was also convicted of taking, permitting the taking, or making such indecent images at the same address during the period from October 2, 2013, to April 22 of the previous year.

Furthermore, the court found him guilty of possessing extreme pornographic images depicting women engaged in sexual acts with animals, including dogs and horses, within the same timeframe. The verdict was delivered with the understanding that these images represented a serious breach of laws designed to protect minors and prevent animal cruelty.

Sentencing was deferred until December 31 to allow for reports and assessments to be completed. Meanwhile, Matthew Page was granted bail, pending the final sentencing. The case has drawn significant attention due to the disturbing nature of the crimes and the implications for community safety in Arbroath.
