IRISH PEDOPHILE FACES LIFE IN US PRISON AFTER IRELAND CONVICTION
Matthew Liam Johnstone, aged 36, is a convicted sex offender currently serving a prison sentence in Ireland.Last December, he was jailed for one year after being found with graphic images and videos of child abuse, which provincial court judges described as among the worst they had encountered in years.
Despite appearing to have been released from prison, Johnstone now faces serious criminal charges in Texas, including eight counts of enticement and sexual exploitation of a minor.
A grand jury indicted him, and a warrant was issued for his arrest in Corpus Christi.
According to authorities, Johnstone is accused of inducing a child in Texas to engage in bestiality, and the maximum penalty if convicted could be life imprisonment along with a fine of up to $250,000.
Investigations revealed that he had queries related to a child pornography website accessed through the TOR network.
The Irish police had tipped off the FBI that Johnstone was coercing a child into filming sadistic, sexually explicit acts.
His previous convictions in Ireland involved possession of child sexual abuse images and videos, which led to his recent heavy sentencing.
The case is noted for the depraved nature of the content, especially images involving children aged between one and twelve, some altered with animal genitalia.
Johnstone’s actions in Ireland and the United States mark him as a high-level offender in child sexual abuse crimes.
