ADAM THOMPSON FROM COVENTRY AND QUINTON, LONGFORD, OLDBURY SEX OFFENDERS JAILED FOR ABUSING CHILDREN

In a disturbing case that has shocked the local communities of Coventry, Longford, Oldbury, and Quinton, a trio of individuals involved in heinous sexual crimes has been sentenced to prison terms after their depraved actions were uncovered in court. The defendants, Adam Thompson, aged 42, along with Kim Carrie, 36, and Tara Bowen, also 36, pleaded guilty to a series of serious sex offences during an earlier hearing, leading to their convictions and subsequent sentencing at Coventry Crown Court.

Adam Thompson, who hails from Coventry, received a sentence of ten years in prison. His crimes included engaging in sexual acts with a minor, possessing a controlled Class C drug, supplying drugs to others, and inciting children to participate in sexual activities. The court heard that Thompson’s criminal conduct was particularly egregious, involving the exploitation of minors in his own home located in Cargill Close, Longford, in 2007. Prosecutor Adrian Keeling detailed that the environment at Thompson’s residence was one of chaos and depravity, with the three defendants engaging in drug-fueled orgies that included sexual acts with each other.

Thompson was found to have supplied GHB, a drug often used as an aphrodisiac, and ketamine, which impairs inhibitions. These substances were used to manipulate and control the teenagers who were present. The victims, a teenage girl and boy, were subjected to drug administration before being coerced into witnessing and participating in sexual acts involving the defendants. The girl was given drugs prior to being abused by Thompson, while the boy was also drugged and forced to engage in sexual activities with both women. The court was told that these horrific acts were uncovered when police responded to an unrelated incident at Thompson’s house and discovered video recordings of the abuse.

Further revelations emerged when police examined the videos, in which Thompson boasted about installing hidden cameras in his bathroom and above the lounge sofa. He openly discussed how he would use footage of the girl coming to his house for his own gratification and even share the recordings with others online. This evidence painted a chilling picture of the extent of his depravity.

Kim Carrie, who was residing in Oldbury on Parson’s Hill, was sentenced to three years in prison for cruelty to a person under 16. Her defense argued that her involvement was influenced by her relationship with Thompson, and that prior to their association, she had no history of drug or alcohol abuse. Tara Bowen, from Quinton in Birmingham, received a four-year sentence for her role in the sexual abuse of a minor. Her legal representatives expressed remorse and shame for her actions.

As part of their sentences, Thompson and Bowen were ordered to register as sex offenders for life. Additionally, Thompson faced a lifetime ban from working with children, was prohibited from having internet access in his home, and was barred from having children under 16 in his residence or possessing any recording equipment capable of capturing visual images. These measures aim to prevent any future harm and ensure public safety. The case has left a lasting impact on the communities involved, highlighting the importance of vigilance and safeguarding vulnerable individuals from such predatory behavior.
