EASTBOURNE MAN GETS SUSPENDED SENTENCE FOR SPIDERMAN MASK STALKING
A man identified as Mason Rogers, aged 23, from Marsden Road, Eastbourne, has been convicted of stalking a woman by leaving a series of presents at her residence while disguised in a Spiderman mask.
The victim reported that Rogers began his stalking behavior in February 2024, during which he left packages and wore a Spiderman mask on at least one occasion.
He was caught on a doorbell camera during one incident, which significantly contributed to the case against him.
Further deliveries included a package containing a doorbell camera and a second camera, along with a note stating, 'happy ten months and sixteen days since you found out you had a stalker.' Rogers pleaded guilty in January to the charge of stalking involving serious alarm and distress.
On Friday at Brighton Magistrates Court, he was sentenced to a 16-month prison term, suspended for two years.
Additionally, he received a 10-year restraining order that prohibits him from contacting the victim in person or online until 11 July 2035, and he was ordered to complete 25 days of rehabilitation activities.
The court previously revealed that Rogers' actions included leaving packages and wearing a mask, and the restraining order was placed to prevent further contact, underlining the seriousness of his misconduct.
