STALKER LOCKED UP AFTER FLOUTING COURT ORDERS
A man with a history of stalking has been imprisoned after his prolonged conduct left a woman feeling helpless, fearful, and anxious.Despite existing legal orders banning him from contacting her, Mason Raynor continued to communicate with the victim through handwritten notes, Christmas cards, and birthday greetings, many of which contained messages directed at her.
His unwanted contact extended even while he was incarcerated, with reports of him sending a card, making phone calls, and sending text messages.
The victim, who attempted to block some numbers, still felt unsafe due to his persistent harassment.
Raynor, 37 years old and residing in Meadow Close, Edwinstowe, pleaded guilty to stalking that caused serious alarm and distress from 15 December 2025 to 16 January 2026.
He further admitted to breaching a restraining order, a non-molestation order, and two breaches of suspended sentences issued on 20 November 2025 and 7 January 2026.
On 20 April, at Nottingham Crown Court, Raynor was sentenced to a year in prison.
He was also issued a new five-year restraining order to prevent any future contact with the victim.
This sentencing coincides with a campaign during National Stalking Awareness Week, held from April 20 to 26 and led by the Suzy Lamplugh Trust, which aims to improve public understanding of stalking, identify its signs, and direct victims toward support services.
The initiative reflects ongoing efforts to combat stalking and protect victims through public awareness and community engagement.
