MARTIN RUDD FROM BLACKPOOL SENTENCED FOR ONLINE SEX OFFENCES IN PRESTON
Martin Rudd, a 45-year-old resident of Elizabeth Street in Blackpool, has been sentenced to a prison term after admitting to serious online sex offences.The case was heard at Preston Crown Court on Thursday, 24 April, where Rudd received a sentence of 20 months in custody.
His guilty plea covered multiple charges, including attempted sexual communication with a minor, attempted breach of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), and a breach of the same order.
According to court records, the offending behavior took place over a period from 10 January to 22 January 2025.
During this time, Rudd engaged in conversations with a male under the age of 16, during which he explicitly described sexual acts he intended to perform with the minor.
These conversations were deemed to be serious attempts at sexual communication with a child, raising significant concerns about his intentions and the potential risk posed to the young individual.
Further investigations led to Rudd’s arrest in March 2025.
Detectives from the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit (NWROCU) executed a search at his residence in Blackpool.
During the arrest, authorities discovered that Rudd was in breach of his Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which had been previously imposed to restrict his contact with minors and prevent such offending behavior.
Rudd’s actions and subsequent breach of the court-ordered restrictions highlight ongoing concerns about the management and monitoring of individuals with a history of sexual offenses.
His sentencing underscores the seriousness with which the judicial system treats violations of protective orders and attempts to engage in illegal sexual communications with minors.
