Martin Dicken, aged 34 and a recipient of Universal Credit, was discovered in possession of five indecent images of minors on his Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.
The images had been downloaded over a period from January 31 to July 2, 2024.
Dicken confessed to experiencing intrusive thoughts related to children of his friends and admitted to conducting internet searches using terms such as 'teen' and 'girl'.
In July 2024, law enforcement officers carried out a search at his residence on Dorothy Road, Smethwick, which resulted in his arrest while he was at his place of employment.
