MARK WEBB'S REPEATED OFFENSES IN MAIDSTONE: COURT JAILS SERIAL SEX OFFENDER AGAIN
In April 2005, Maidstone witnessed the continued troubling pattern of criminal behavior by Mark Webb, a notorious sex offender with a long history of violations and convictions.Webb, who has accumulated a total of 19 prior convictions for sexual offenses—including attempted rape—was once again brought before Maidstone Crown Court after breaching a court-mandated order designed to restrict his interactions with women and girls.
Webb’s latest breach occurred just three days after his release from Maidstone prison on March 4, 2005.
Despite being under close supervision and having his compliance monitored by officials, including his probation officer, Webb engaged in an inappropriate encounter at Swanley railway station.
The court heard that Webb approached a 16-year-old girl who was reading on the station platform.
According to prosecutor Catherine Donnelly, Webb initiated a conversation about her book, then shifted to topics such as China and Buddhism.
