MARK KEATES FROM YEOVIL ADDED TO SEX OFFENDERS' REGISTER AFTER CHILD IMAGE DISCOVERY

In a recent development, Mark Keates, a resident of Yeovil, has been officially placed on the sex offenders’ register following a police investigation that uncovered disturbing evidence on his computer. Authorities found vestigial, deleted indecent images of children, which had been removed but left traces detectable through forensic analysis.

Keates, aged 59, admitted in court to possessing such illicit material during the period from 2011 to 2014. The police investigation revealed that the images found on his device were of the lowest category, indicating a minimal but nonetheless illegal collection of indecent content involving minors.

Despite the relatively small quantity and the low classification of the images, the court imposed a strict sentence. Keates is to serve a one-year supervision order, which will require him to adhere to ongoing monitoring and registration obligations.
