PAEDOPHILE ENCOURAGED RAPE OF 'BABY AND EIGHT-YEAR-OLD CHILD'
A reprehensible paedophile who encouraged the rape of a baby and an eight-year-old child has been jailed.Mark Craig sent descriptive messages about sexually abusing children to a man he believed had access to young girls, including a baby.
In February of this year, Craig sent explicit images and videos of himself, continuing to send sexually graphic content to the man.
Unbeknownst to him, the recipient was a police officer conducting an investigation.
The sentencing took place at Newcastle Crown Court following a detailed operation by officers from the North East Regional Organised Crime Unit (NEROCU).
Craig was arrested in March and charged with facilitating a child sex offence, creating an indecent image of a child, and distributing such images.
At his court hearing, he admitted to all charges.
On the same day, Craig, from Westerhope, was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison.
