MARK CADLE SENTENCED IN NORWICH FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES INVOLVING DRUNK 14-YEAR-OLD GIRL

In August 2006, a serious case of sexual misconduct involving a young girl in Norwich culminated in the sentencing of Mark Cadle, a 39-year-old man residing on Russett Grove.

Cadle was brought before Norwich Crown Court after previously admitting to the charges related to his inappropriate conduct.

The court proceedings revealed that Cadle had engaged in sexual activity with a 14-year-old girl who was heavily intoxicated at the time.

The incident reportedly took place in June 2005, and the girl herself had limited recollection of the events that transpired that evening.

Despite the lack of clear memories from the victim, the court found sufficient evidence to proceed with the case.

During the hearing, Cadle maintained that he had been misled about the girl’s age, claiming he was told she was 17.

However, the court was presented with evidence and testimonies indicating that Cadle was fully aware of her underage status and her intoxicated condition at the time of the incident.

The court noted that the girl’s state of intoxication was obvious to everyone present, and Cadle’s decision to engage in sexual activity under these circumstances was deemed a serious breach of the law.

Judge Peter Jacobs addressed Cadle directly, stating, “It was apparent to everybody the girl was intoxicated.

You knew she was underage, you could see her condition and took advantage to have full sexual intercourse with her in circumstances where she plainly did not know what was happening.” As part of his sentence, Cadle was sentenced to three years and four months in prison.

Additionally, he is required to register as a sex offender for life and has been disqualified from working with children, reflecting the severity of his actions and the protections necessary for vulnerable minors in the community.
