MARK BIDDLE SENTENCED IN KIDDERMINSTER FOR VIOLENT CRIMES AND CHILD ABUSE

A man identified as Mark Biddle has been handed a significant prison sentence after being found guilty of multiple serious offences involving violence and child cruelty. The incident took place in Kidderminster, where Biddle, aged 25 and residing on Shrawley Avenue, has a troubling criminal history that has now culminated in a lengthy incarceration.

Last Wednesday, January 22, Worcester Crown Court delivered its verdict, convicting Biddle on several counts related to domestic violence and assault. The court heard that Biddle had intentionally strangled a victim, an act for which he received a 24-month prison term. In addition to this, he was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £187. To further protect the victim, the court imposed a restraining order that will remain in effect until January 22, 2035, effectively barring him from any contact with the victim for the next decade.

In February 2023, Biddle pleaded guilty to charges of child cruelty, which resulted in a 14-month sentence that was to run concurrently with his other sentences. The court also found him guilty of assault, which carried a three-month sentence, and assault causing actual bodily harm, which added a further four months to his incarceration. All these sentences are to be served concurrently, meaning they run at the same time, rather than consecutively.

The criminal proceedings followed Biddle’s arrest in June 2023, after reports emerged that he had assaulted a woman and her young child, causing injuries to both. The offences spanned from January 2023 through June 2023, highlighting a pattern of violent behavior that has deeply affected the victims involved.

Detective Inspector Marie Green, from the Worcester Protecting Vulnerable People (PVP) department, issued a statement emphasizing the danger posed by Biddle. She described him as a dangerous individual with a clear propensity for domestic violence. Inspector Green detailed how Biddle subjected the woman and her child to a terrifying campaign of abuse behind closed doors, underscoring the severity of his actions.

She also praised the victim for her bravery and resilience in coming forward to report the crimes, acknowledging the patience required to see justice through the criminal justice system. Inspector Green expressed hope that the sentence would offer the victim some measure of closure and enable her to begin rebuilding her life in the future.
