AYLESBURY PAEDOPHILE FOOTBALL COACH MARC KENNY FACES JAIL OVER CHILD SEX IMAGES

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Aylesbury, Marc Kenny, a 45-year-old man residing on Misbourne Close, has been sentenced to 25 months in prison following his conviction related to the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse images. The court also imposed a decade-long Sexual Harm Prevention Order on Kenny, alongside a requirement for him to register as a sex offender for the same period, underscoring the severity of his crimes.

The case first came to light in July 2021, when Kenny, who held the position of welfare officer and football director at the youth football club Aylesbury Town Corinthians FC, was found to have amassed nearly 500 indecent images and videos depicting children. During the proceedings at Aylesbury Crown Court, Kenny admitted to being sexually attracted to girls as young as eight years old, a revelation that added to the gravity of his offenses.

He faced multiple charges, including three counts of making indecent images of children and one count of distributing such images. The court was told that Kenny had engaged in conversations with other paedophiles via messaging platforms Kik and Wickr, where he fantasized about having sexual relations with young girls. The investigation was triggered when, on October 29, 2020, police officers executed a search warrant at Kenny’s residence in Aylesbury. During the search, they discovered naked images of children on his mobile device, leading to his immediate arrest.

Following his arrest, Kenny cooperated with authorities, admitting to his offending behavior and revealing that he had been involved in such activities for approximately nine months. He explicitly stated that he was attracted to girls as young as eight years old. The court was presented with distressing evidence, including a graphic 16-second video depicting the sexual abuse of a baby less than one year old, which Kenny possessed.

Prosecutor Nigel Ogborne detailed how Kenny had shared an image of an 11-year-old girl being sexually abused within a Kik group chat containing 130 members, accompanied by a message reading, “wow so sexy, and what a good girl she is.” The following day, Kenny shared the same image in another Kik group with 304 members. Despite his admission of guilt, Kenny claimed to have undergone child safeguarding training with the Football Association, yet he acknowledged that he was unable to stop his offending behavior. He also admitted to receiving and distributing indecent images, including sharing them within closed groups where child abuse was discussed.

Judge Francis Sheridan, presiding over the case, made it clear that Kenny would not be receiving a suspended sentence, emphasizing the seriousness of the crimes. Before sentencing, the judge ordered the National Crime Agency to investigate the extent of child abuse involved in Kenny’s collection of images and videos, stressing that these were real children who had been victimized. The judge stated, “These children are real children. Somebody abused them, this is not a victimless crime. How many children are we talking about? I have to know. The court has to have in mind the protection of the public.”

On July 16, the court scheduled Kenny’s sentencing, and he was remanded in custody, with Judge Sheridan warning him to expect a harsh punishment. The judge reiterated, “There will be a custodial sentence, it will be immediate. I regard this as a deeply, deeply serious case.” The community of Aylesbury remains deeply concerned about the implications of this case, which highlights the ongoing threat posed by individuals involved in child exploitation and abuse.
