SWANSEA MAN SENTENCED FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ASSAULTS
A court has heard that Mansur Ahmed, a 23-year-old man from Swansea, repeatedly assaulted his partner with slaps, punches, pushes, and bites over the course of one week.
The woman suffered extensive bruises and bite marks on her face and body as a result of his attacks.
Despite pleading guilty to three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, Ahmed claimed he was acting in self-defence during police questioning.
The relationship began positively in December 2023 but quickly turned abusive, with Ahmed becoming verbally aggressive and physically violent on three separate occasions in June.
After the final assault on June 13, the victim was taken to Morriston Hospital where injuries were documented.
Ahmed was subsequently arrested and sentenced to 20 months in prison with a five-year restraining order preventing contact with his partner.
A judge described Ahmed as an "innately jealous" man and emphasized that attacking a woman diminishes her as a person and also degrades the attacker himself.
