MALAK SIFTUL-HASSAN JAILED IN CRAWLEY FOR REPEATED SEXUAL RISK ORDER BREACHES
A man with a troubling history of sexual offenses has been sentenced to a year in prison after violating a court order designed to protect a minor.Malak Siftul-Hassan, aged 32 and of no fixed address, was found guilty of breaching his Sexual Risk Order, which explicitly prohibited him from being in the company of anyone under the age of 18 without a parent or guardian present, as well as communicating with a specific 16-year-old girl.
On Friday, March 8, in Crawley town centre, Siftul-Hassan was observed in the company of the teenage girl named in the court order.
His presence with her was a direct violation of the restrictions imposed by the court, raising serious concerns about his intentions and the safety of the minor involved.
The following evening, law enforcement officers detained Siftul-Hassan.
During a subsequent search of his mobile phone, authorities discovered evidence that he had been in contact with the girl earlier that month, further confirming his breach of the court order.
This communication, coupled with his presence in Crawley with the minor, led to his arrest and subsequent charges.
He was formally charged with and convicted of breaching his Sexual Risk Order on two separate occasions.
The case was brought before Lewes Crown Court, where the judge sentenced him to 12 months in prison, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding vulnerable children from repeat offenders like Siftul-Hassan.
Detective Inspector Darren Taylor of Sussex Police issued a statement highlighting the force’s commitment to community safety.
He stated, “Sussex Police is committed to protecting our communities from sexual offending and will use all the tools at our disposal to limit offenders’ ability to offend and ensure they face justice for their crimes.” He continued, “Malak Siftul-Hassan repeatedly breached a court order designed to protect a vulnerable child who he targeted multiple times.
He has now been placed behind bars where he can cause no further harm to her or any other member of the public.
This should send a clear message to other offenders that we will do everything in our power to hold you accountable for your crimes.”
