MAN JAILED FOR SIX YEARS AFTER SEXUALLY COMMUNICATING WITH TEENAGE GIRLS ONLINE
A man was sentenced to six years in prison after engaging in sexual communication with underage girls via social media.According to Dorset Police, the investigation was initiated in April 2025 when the defendant, 34-year-old Luke Morgan Leon Burton from Carterton, Oxfordshire, was found in a vehicle with a vulnerable teenage girl he had met through online contact.
Authorities seized his digital devices and conducted examinations, which revealed Snapchat messages planning to meet the girl, as well as communications with other underage females and indecent images.
Burton admitted to five charges of possessing Category A and C indecent images, two counts of causing a child to participate in sexual activities, and one count each of causing a child to observe sexual acts, engaging in sexual communication with a minor, and attempting to do so.
On May 18, 2026, at Bournemouth Crown Court, he was handed a six-year prison sentence, along with a ten-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and an indefinite registration on the sex offenders’ register.
Detective Sergeant Al Marks, of the Safeguarding Hub, commented: “Burton posed a significant threat to teenage girls and continued his offending despite knowing their ages.
