MAN FOUND GUILTY OF PUNCHING PARTNER IN THE FACE
A resident of Carterton faces possible jail time after punching his former partner in the face.Kamil Fedorczuk, 40 years old from Sycamore Drive, was convicted on September 28 of causing actual bodily harm to the woman in February 2021.
He was acquitted, however, of a separate charge of wounding.
He has been granted bail until November 8, with a pre-sentence report ordered by Recorder Rachel Drake from the probation service.
The judge highlighted that the defendant deliberately struck his partner.
She remarked: “That is a very serious offence and I could sentence you to immediate custody.
The fact I am adjourning this case for a pre-sentence report should not be seen as any indication that I won’t send you immediately into prison on November 8.” Nick Mather appeared for the Crown Prosecution Service.
Lyall Thompson represented the defendant.
