MAN ACCUSED OF STRANGLING AND ASSAULTING EX-PARTNER IN SLAITHWAITE
A man, Luke Milner, strangled his ex-partner and poured Red Bull over her during a confrontation over money, a court heard. The victim sustained injuries including a teardrop fracture to her spine.
Milner denies charges of assault causing actual bodily harm, criminal damage, and sending threatening messages.
According to prosecutor Shamalia Qureshi, the first attack occurred on August 16, where Milner charged at the victim, threw her to the ground, and strangled her with both hands to prevent her from breathing, while also pouring Red Bull on her hair and spitting at her four times.
On another occasion, August 31, he allegedly pushed and kicked her while wearing shoes, leaving her feeling dizzy and sick.
The magistrates deemed the cases too serious to be handled at that level, and Milner, of Sheepridge Grove, in Leeds Crown Court, is scheduled to appear on November 5.
Until then, he is banned from contacting three named individuals and from going within 100 meters of Olney Street.
