LUKE KING JAILED FOR ASSAULT AND STRANGULATION IN SWINDON
Following a thorough investigation conducted by Thames Valley Police, a man has been sentenced to prison for a violent assault and the act of intentional strangulation.Luke King, aged 40, whose residence is listed as Tudor Walk in Swindon, was handed down a sentence of one year and three months behind bars at Oxford Crown Court on Friday, 23 May.
King had previously entered a guilty plea during a hearing held on 31 March, admitting to one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm as well as one count of intentional strangulation.
The incident in question occurred on 31 January of this year, when King violently attacked a woman in her thirties. During this assault, he physically assaulted her and strangled her, causing her significant distress and harm.
Following his arrest, King was charged while in police custody. To ensure the safety of the victim and prevent any further harm, he was remanded into custody and held in prison until his trial.
Detective Constable Michael Hopcroft, who led the investigation, expressed his condemnation of King’s actions, stating: “Luke King committed a violent and unacceptable act on his victim. This kind of assault and abuse is never acceptable, and I hope this conviction and custodial sentence demonstrates our commitment to listening, investigating thoroughly, and taking all necessary actions to protect victims from offenders.”
