ELGIN MAN SENTENCED TO JAIL AND INDEFINITE REGISTER FOR TERRIFYING TEEN RAPE
An individual named Luke Clarkson has been convicted of a shocking sexual assault involving a teenager.Clarkson, a 27-year-old former employee at McDonald's, was found guilty after a trial of raping an 18-year-old woman at a flat in Dundee on January 19, 2020.
During the assault, Clarkson only halted when the victim physically intervened by grabbing him by the throat.
The judge, Lord Boyd of Duncansby, highlighted that Clarkson showed no remorse for his actions and noted the victim's statement that the psychological trauma inflicted was long-lasting and debilitating.
Clarkson was also convicted of ongoing abusive behavior towards the woman over several months, culminating in the assault.
The assault involved forced sexual acts, as well as physical violence including pushing, grabbing, hitting her with an ornament, and seizing her by the throat.
Despite his defense claiming Clarkson maintained innocence and citing his adverse childhood experiences, the court sentenced him to four years and nine months in prison.
Furthermore, Clarkson was ordered to be placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely following his sentencing.
The judge emphasized the severity of the crime and its impact on the victim, who suffered both physical injuries and long-term psychological effects.
