SALISBURY MAN GETS OVER SIX YEARS FOR ATTEMPTED CHILD SEX OFFENCES
Louis Large, a 25-year-old resident of Salisbury, has been sentenced to six years and six months in prison after attempting to organize a child sex offence.
The sentencing took place at Reading Crown Court on December 18.
In addition to his imprisonment, he was subjected to an indefinite Sexual Harm Protection Order and was placed on the sex offenders register for life.
The court was informed that between June and July 2024, Large was found communicating with another man, Damien Saunders, aged 40 from Pewsey.
They were coordinating plans to meet children for sex offences via social media and instant messaging.
Saunders received a sentence of two years in prison on November 4 at Swindon Crown Court.
DS Toni Nugent emphasized the seriousness of these offences, stating, 'We know that it can be daunting to report incidents of sexual abuse, but I want to reassure anyone affected that we take all reports of this nature incredibly seriously.
Our message will always be that we’re ready when you are, that you’ll be listened to, and taken seriously.' She added, 'I’m pleased with these sentences, putting two men who pose serious risk to children in prison for some time.
Luckily in this circumstance no-one was assaulted.' The court also imposed conditions through the Sexual Harm Prevention Orders that restrict actions such as erasing search histories, procuring or destroying devices, contacting certain demographics, and limiting or controlling the devices owned by the offenders.
The police encourage the public to report any suspicions of child sexual exploitation or abuse through the official channels.
