HAVANT RAPIST LEWIS YOUNG JAILED FOR LIFE WITH MINIMUM OF 12 YEARS
In 2022, Lewis Young, the Havant Rapist, a man, received a life sentence with a minimum term of 12 years at Winchester Crown Court for the kidnapping and rape of a lady at knifepoint in Salisbury.
Lewis Young, 28, from Havant, admitted to charges of kidnapping, rape, assault by penetration, possession of a weapon, dangerous driving, and driving while disqualified.
In what has been characterized as a heinous assault on an unknown individual, Lewis Young confessed to devising a scheme to abduct and sexually assault a woman to facilitate his return to incarceration.
Lewis Young assaulted the victim as she entered her vehicle in an underground parking facility in Bournemouth during the early evening of April 12, 2022.
He unlawfully entered the woman’s vehicle and transported her to Salisbury.
Upon their eventual stop, he assaulted her before she could flee and contact law enforcement.
Sarah Perkins, Senior Crown Prosecutor at CPS Wessex, stated: “This case was profoundly shocking, as Lewis Young subjected the victim to a terrifying and horrific experience.” “By collaborating with Wiltshire police from the beginning, we identified necessary actions to promptly present a robust prosecution case to the court.
This collaborative strategy led to guilty pleas, alleviating the victim of the further strain of awaiting and participating in a trial.” Ms Perkins stated, “We anticipate that the victim, who has exhibited remarkable fortitude throughout the criminal justice proceedings, will perceive that justice has been served today.” “We also anticipate that the outcome provides her with a modicum of solace as she endeavours to reconstruct her life after such a harrowing experience.” The breakdown of the sentence was: Kidnap: life imprisonment with a minimum term of 12 years.
