DOG BREEDER BANNED FOR CAUSING SUFFERING TO ANIMALS
A dog breeder named Linda Fedorec has been banned from keeping animals for five years after cruelty officers discovered a dead puppy and other starving dogs under her care. She admitted to causing unnecessary suffering to the animals.
She was also fined £480 at Dumfries Sheriff Court for the offenses that occurred at Balgray Home Farm near Lockerbie.
The Scottish SPCA argued that a lifetime ban would have been more appropriate given the 'horrific' conditions found.
Inspector June Chalcroft described the conditions as 'horrific and shocking,' noting that the floor was filthy with urine and faeces, and the dogs appeared very thin with no available food or water, indicating they had been abandoned.
The investigation revealed that Fedorec was breeding and showing dogs for 12 years but was unwell and experiencing personal difficulties at the time of the offenses.
