CARLUKE SEX OFFENDER JAILED AS SHERIFF IMPOSES 10-YEAR REGISTER ORDER
A Carluke man has been jailed after being sentenced at Lanark Sheriff Court for sexual offending, with a sheriff ordering that he remain on the Sex Offenders Register for the next decade.Liam Quinn, of Carluke, South Lanarkshire, appeared at Lanark Sheriff Court on Monday, 6 July 2026, where he was sentenced to an extended prison sentence of 27 months.
The sentence consists of 15 months in custody, followed by a 12-month extension period during which Quinn will be supervised in the community after his release from prison.
Court papers confirm the custodial sentence was backdated to 21 July 2025, meaning Quinn has already been serving his prison term while awaiting the outcome of proceedings.
As part of the sentence, Quinn was also made subject to the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years, requiring him to comply with strict notification requirements imposed on registered sex offenders.
The documentation further explains that specialist police officers will manage his registration and any monitoring conditions according to the level of risk he presents.
Following his release from custody, Quinn will spend 12 months under statutory supervision, with conditions designed to monitor his behaviour and help protect the public.
The court proceedings took place at Lanark Sheriff Court on 6 July 2026, bringing the case to its conclusion after Quinn received both a custodial sentence and long-term post-release supervision.
