LEIGH MAN JAILED FOR DOMESTIC ABUSE
A MAN has been sentenced to 27 months in jail for domestic abuse offences against his partner in Leigh.Liam Mountford, 36, of Hope Street, Leigh, pleaded guilty at Bolton Crown Court to causing actual bodily harm against his partner.
Last year, the 36-year-old narrowly avoided prison time after committing controlling and coercive behaviour against a former partner.
He was handed a 12-month suspended sentence and was given a further suspended sentence after breaching a restraining order against the woman.
Mountford has been convicted at least 19 times for at least 32 offences and was jailed in 2016 for a racially aggravated assault in Wigan.
Appearing at Bolton Crown Court this week, Mountford was sentenced to 27 months imprisonment and a 5-year restraining order against his partner following police seeking an evidence-based prosecution.
