INVERURIE MAN JAIL FOR HEADBUTT AND POLICE THREATS
A man named Lewis Ivory has been convicted of assaulting his girlfriend and making threatening comments to police officers, resulting in his imprisonment.Ivory, aged 27, was sentenced to 17 months in prison by Sheriff Gareth Jones after admitting to assault and threatening behavior.
The incident occurred on February 22 this year on a footpath in Inverurie, where Ivory headbutted his partner after she refused to visit his grandmother’s house with him.
The court was told that Ivory had previously reoffended multiple times, breached community orders, and failed to comply with previous legal restrictions, which contributed to the decision to jail him.
The victim sustained a facial injury during the headbutt and had shouted for help during the attack.
Additionally, Ivory had committed a separate offence on August 25, 2022, when he responded aggressively to police during a welfare check and threatened to stab them.
Ivory pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including assault, making threats, damaging property, possessing controlled drugs, and breaching bail.
The court highlighted Ivory’s pattern of repeated offending, stating that he had been given numerous chances for community-based punishments but continued to offend.
Sheriff Gareth Jones emphasized the seriousness of Ivory’s actions and explained that a prison sentence was necessary because of his ongoing misconduct.
