LEWIS GREEN SENTENCED IN PORTSMOUTH AFTER FATAL STABBING OF BROTHER BILLY GREEN
Lewis Green, who carried out a stabbing that resulted in the death of his 26-year-old brother Billy Green, has been sentenced to six and a half years in prison.
The incident occurred on January 11 at the bottom of Wingfield Street in Portsmouth, when police were called to reports of a serious assault.
Upon arrival, officers found Billy Green had been stabbed.
Paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service attended but were unable to save him, and he was pronounced dead around 12:45 pm.
Green was attempting to flee the scene when he was arrested.
He later pleaded guilty to manslaughter at Portsmouth Crown Court.
Billy’s family shared their grief, describing him as a 'cheeky chappy with an infectious laugh' and stating that he was 'loved forever by mum, dad, and family.' Detective Inspector Matthew Gillooly from Hampshire Constabulary praised the sentence, calling the incident 'senseless and violent,' and highlighting the profound impact on everyone involved.
