MAN JAILED FOR OVER SIX YEARS FOR ‘SERIOUS DOMESTIC INCIDENT’
A man from Kensington received a prison sentence of six years and eight months, along with an additional three-year license period and an indefinite restraining order issued against his victim following a serious domestic incident earlier in the year.27-year-old Lewis Dunn was formally sentenced on Tuesday, 27 September 2022, at Liverpool Crown Court.
The charges included false imprisonment, Section 20 assault, and three counts of criminal damage.
He also faced charges of Section 18 wounding with intent, Section 20 assault, and engaging in controlling or coercive behaviour, which remain on file.
The incident on Tuesday, 22 February, involved Dunn visiting the home of his former partner, where he caused damage to two vehicles and her residence.
Later that same day, after issuing threats, Dunn met with the victim and took her to a flat against her will, where she was kept captive and unable to leave.
During this period, he assaulted her multiple times, inflicting 23 injuries including fractures, severe bruising, cuts, and cigarette burns.
On Thursday, 24 February, police attended the address following reports of a stabbing.
It was discovered that the victim had seized a moment to escape her attacker.
Dunn then absconded and was later found by the Merseyside Police Fugitive Team in Anfield at the start of March.
After an extensive investigation by the Protecting Vulnerable Persons Unit, he was charged with various offences.
