MAN IN COURT ACCUSED OF SEX ATTACK IN BLACKPOOL PARK

A man has appeared in court charged with attempting to rape a teenage girl in Blackpool's Stanley Park.

Levi Westhead, 22, is also accused of raping the same girl on a separate occasion in 2020.

Westhead, of no fixed address, appeared by video link at Preston Crown Court on Monday (January 5).

He spoke only to confirm his name and did not enter pleas to either of the charges.

The defendant was remanded in custody but will return to court on February 2 to formally enter his pleas to both charges.
