SEXUAL PREDATOR LEVI ADAMS JAILED FOR HEINOUS CRIMES AGAINST TEENS
A convicted sexual predator has been sentenced to 13 years in prison for a series of heinous crimes.Levi Adams, aged 25, was found guilty by a jury of three counts of rape, sexual assault, and four counts of sexual activity with a minor.
He was also convicted of controlling and coercive behavior as well as assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Sheffield Crown Court detailed that Adams committed these sexual offences against two females—one under the age of 16—by assaulting them while they slept.
One victim woke up to find him raping her, and another was awoken by his actions.
Her Honour Judge Rachael Harrison remarked on the first victim: "She confronted you and she was crying." Referring to the second victim, she noted: "You wanted her to look at you...
She was saying it was wrong and pointed out the differences in your ages...
She was upset and shaking and you told her you wanted to have sex with her and she refused.
You continued to kiss her neck." The court heard that when the second girl managed to escape, Adams said: "Please don't tell anyone" and then messaged her, with Judge Harrison describing these messages as attempts at bribery.
Victim impact statements revealed long-lasting trauma: one victim expressed anxiety and being unable to leave the house alone, while the other described how her education and teenage years were affected, causing her to fail exams and lose friends.
Adams, previously of good character, had a history of acquisitive crimes linked to drug use, with substance abuse noted as a factor during his psychological assessment.
It was also disclosed that Adams attempted to take his own life twice during police investigations.
His barrister highlighted prior abuse and neglect from his childhood, in addition to an ADHD diagnosis at age 13.
The judge stated that these offences were exceptionally serious, occurring over a 13-month period but noted he had not reoffended since.
