MOTHER 'NEVER' STOPPED LOVING KILLER SON: THE TRAGIC STORY OF LESLIE GADSBY
Leslie Gadsby, who is 39 years old, was involved in two fatal incidents within his family.
In 2004, he assaulted his father, Arthur, with a hammer, leading to his detention in a secure mental health facility for over two years due to his paranoid schizophrenia.
Following his release, he was given a conditional discharge from the hospital in 2006, under strict court conditions that barred him from approaching within 200 meters of his mother.
His mother was Edna Gadsby, a woman aged 70.
Tragically, on 31 March 2010, Leslie killed his mother by stabbing her to death.
A Liverpool Coroner, Andre Rebello, officially recorded the verdict of unlawful killing in relation to Edna Gadsby's death.
Prior to the murder, Leslie had distributed money and possessions, which was interpreted as a precursor to a possible psychotic episode.
In March 2011, Leslie Gadsby was sentenced to life imprisonment at a secure psychiatric hospital after admitting to the manslaughter of his mother.
