STALKER WHO HELD KNIFE TO MUM'S THROAT TOLD OFF IN COURT FOR STARING AT HER
Knifeman Lee Scanlon has been jailed after he terrified his mum and his ex-partner in horrific incidents. The 'dangerous' 41-year-old held a blade to his own mother’s throat and threatened to ‘annihilate’ her if she turned up to give evidence during his trial.
On May 2 2025 at around 9.10am, his former partner saw the defendant in City Road.
He approached her and began to shout abuse.
He called her children derogatory names and made threats of violence to one of her children.
She was in fear of what the defendant would do after his threats.
And in another incident, he smashed the windows of a parked vehicle and stole two coats and two children’s bags - one of which belonged to an autistic boy who was left scared and unable to sleep.
He was finally sentenced to 32 months behind bars, during which he was glaring at his mother from the dock, and was scolded by the judge.
Scanlon, of Attleboro Road, Manchester, but with links to Stoke-on-Trent, was charged with threatening a person with a bladed article, stalking with intent to cause serious harm or distress, theft from a motor vehicle, and intimidating a witness.
As well as the jail sentence, he was handed restraining orders to stay away from his mother and former partner.
His offences included threatening his mother with a knife, stalking her for two months, making threats, and stealing from a vehicle, including an item belonging to a 10-year-old boy with autism, causing him distress.
He also made threats on social media platforms, including TikTok, and continued to threaten his ex-partner via messaging apps while on bail.
During sentencing, the judge emphasized the multiple victims, including his mother and ex-partner, and highlighted the seriousness of the threats made with a knife.
Mitigating, Edmund Potts noted that Scanlon has been abstinent from alcohol, is remorseful, and has been using his prison time productively, working on his education and addressing his issues with Alcoholics Anonymous.
