CHESTER MAN SENTENCED TO 11 YEARS FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT AND COERCIVE CONTROL
A 19-year-old man named Lee Lancelott has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for serious criminal conduct.
Chester Crown Court sentenced him on July 4, following a conviction after a four-day trial.
The court also issued a restraining order preventing him from contacting the victim.
The court was informed that Lee Lancelott sexually assaulted a woman on 30 October 2024 at his residence.
Additionally, from 1 January 2024 to 1 October 2024, he exerted control over her finances, social interactions, and attire, effectively restricting her movement to only leave the bedroom for bathroom use during this period.
The victim reported feeling worry and apprehension about her safety.
DS Vicki Greenhoff stated, “Firstly I’d like to thank the victim for bravely coming forward and supporting a prosecution against Lee Lancelott.
His behaviour towards his victim was deplorable and he is now facing the consequences of his actions.
No one deserves to be treated in this way and this conviction shows how seriously we take domestic abuse.
I hope this gives others subjected to such abuse the courage to come forward to police, to report in confidence.”
