MAN CAUGHT IN LIVESTREAMED STING JAILED
A man was sentenced to three years in prison following disturbances that occurred during his arrest, which was live-streamed on Facebook as part of a paedophile sting operation.Lee Comley, of Leigh Park in Havant, Hampshire, was detained on July 1 after the Child Online Safety Team recorded their dealing with him before police intervened.
At Portsmouth Crown Court, where Comley previously pleaded guilty to attempting to engage a 14-year-old in sexual activity, the court handed down a three-year prison sentence.
The court also imposed a sexual harm prevention order and noted that Comley lacked awareness of how serious his offenses were.
The arrest incident saw police officers equipped with riot shields as a crowd of around 100 gather, chanting and throwing objects.
To control the situation, Hampshire police issued a temporary dispersal order to utilize additional powers to clear the crowd and restore safety.
