MAN JAILED FOR LIFE FOR OFFENCES INCLUDING RAPE & SECOND MAN JAILED FOR 15 YEARS FOR RAPE
Bruno Sala, a 39-year-old man of Portuguese nationality and formerly residing on Middle Park Way in Havant, appeared before Portsmouth Crown Court this Friday, November 28.He received a life sentence with a minimum term of 20 years after being convicted on six counts of rape, one count of assault, and two charges related to encouraging or assisting in committing offenses.
The crimes occurred across Portsmouth and Southampton between 2019 and 2021 and involved three women in their forties.
Investigations conducted by Operation Amberstone revealed that Sala had connected with the women online and developed relationships with them.
Throughout these relationships, he engaged in abusive and rapist behavior, often resorting to violence for control or involving drugs in his offending.
In certain cases, Sala subjected the victims to repeated acts of rape and abuse.
On one occasion, after a woman refused consensual sex, Sala coercively declared that he was her superior before assaulting her.
He also orchestrated situations where a second individual, Edson Domingos, could carry out rape against one of the women.
Sala confided to a victim that his friend, Domingos, had not raped her because he had given him permission.
Domingos, aged 41 and of UK and Angolan nationality, formerly living on Elm Grove in Southsea, was also sentenced at the same hearing to 15 years in prison, with an additional three years on licence due to dangerousness, for two counts of rape.
