MANCHESTER MAN JAILED FOR EXTREME STALKING AND DOMESTIC ABUSE
A man named Kyle Weilding, aged 34, who was of no fixed abode, was sentenced to five years in prison at Manchester Crown Court for a series of serious domestic abuse and stalking offences.His crimes included controlling and coercive behaviour, assault causing actual bodily harm, and non-fatal strangulation.
The abuse took place over a two-year period and involved violent physical assaults, threats, stalking, and harassment.
He started with controlling behaviour, demanding to know how she knew a man she followed on Instagram, which escalated to violence where he repeatedly hit her, leaving her in extreme pain, some of which was captured on CCTV.
He took her card and phone, instructed her to lie to colleagues about bruises, and continued private attacks over months.
After she escaped and moved abroad, he tracked her down, stalked her further, and made threats, including holding her family's dog at knifepoint and smashing her home windows.
He even applied for the same job as her to observe her and caused further threats of stabbing and injury.
He was eventually arrested when police caught up with him upon their return to the UK, and he pleaded guilty to his offences.
Detective Constable Ross Sidebottom from GMP stated that Weilding caused torment and horrific abuse, and praised the bravery of the victim for coming forward.
The court also imposed a 10-year restraining order.
