KYLE MORGAN FROM ROCK FERRY CAUGHT IN WOODS NEAR BEBINGTON WITH RAPE KIT AND HUNTING KNIFE

In a disturbing incident that unfolded in the early hours of January 18, a young man named Kyle Morgan, aged 21, was apprehended in the secluded Storeton Woods area near Bebington.

The arrest came after an off-duty police officer, who noticed Morgan acting suspiciously, decided to investigate further.

The officer's instincts proved correct when Morgan was found carrying a bag that contained a hunting knife, handcuffs, an eye mask, limb restraints, and an open-mouth gag, items that raised immediate concern about his intentions.

When questioned about the purpose of these items, Morgan shockingly admitted, "Because I wanted to kill someone." His chilling confession was made during his detention at Wirral Custody Suite following his arrest.

Morgan, who resides at Aldersgate in Rock Ferry, explained that he had owned the knife for a long time and had purchased the other items from a sex shop.

He further revealed that he had been harboring violent thoughts for several years, and although he had no specific plan on that day, he intended to find someone and kill them, improvising as he went along.

The police investigation extended to examining Morgan's mobile phone, which uncovered searches for pornography involving necrophilia, indicating a disturbing pattern of sexual interests.

Despite the alarming nature of the evidence, authorities found no indication that Morgan had acted on any plans or carried out any physical assault.

Representing the Crown, Wendy Newton from the Rape and Serious Sexual Offences unit of the Mersey Cheshire Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) stated, "We may never know if Kyle Morgan truly intended to carry out his declared plan of killing someone, but the items in the bag he was carrying were chilling indeed." She added that extensive investigations by Merseyside Police found no evidence of any further criminal activity related to his intentions.

During the court proceedings at Liverpool Crown Court, it was revealed that Morgan suffers from severe mental health issues.

As a result, the court ordered that he be detained in a secure hospital rather than imprisoned, recognizing his mental illness as a significant factor.

Morgan was also subjected to a sexual harm prevention order, which prohibits him from possessing items capable of restraint, such as ropes or handcuffs, in public.

The order further restricts his ability to stalk, harass, or intimidate women and imposes limitations on his internet usage to prevent further harm.

In summary, this case highlights the importance of mental health considerations in criminal proceedings, especially when disturbing evidence suggests potential danger.

Morgan's case has been brought to a close with a verdict that prioritizes his treatment and safety, while also addressing public concerns about safety and the prevention of future offenses.
