WIRRAL MAN JAILED FOR RAPING TWO WOMEN WHILE THEY SLEPT
Alan Pickering, aged 40, was found guilty of numerous sexual crimes, including five counts of rape and three counts of sexual assault.His offences took place between January 2004 and July 2020 in the areas of Wirral and Chester.
The victims reported that Pickering often attacked them while they were asleep; both indicated they had woken to find themselves being raped.
Evidence revealed that his abusive behaviour continued despite their pleas for him to stop.
After a trial at Liverpool Crown Court, Pickering received a sentence of 11 years in prison.
He was also mandated to register as a sex offender indefinitely and placed under ongoing restraining orders protecting the victims.
Cheshire Police remarked that his conduct caused significant trauma to those affected, who had to testify during the court proceedings.
The investigation was led by Detective Constable Peel, who commended the victims for their bravery in coming forward.
Additionally, the court imposed a four-year extension to his license period upon release.
