MAN JAILED FOR MAKING INDECENT IMAGES OF CHILDREN AND BREACHING A SEXUAL HARM PREVENTION ORDER
A man from Wirral has been sentenced to prison after being found with indecent images of children and for violating a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).On 19 November 2025, authorities visited the residence of 57-year-old Andrew Contento on Rock Lane East, Rock Ferry, as part of a routine inspection carried out in line with the Sexual Offences Act 2023.
During the visit, officers examined an electronic device and discovered internet activity suggesting access to a well-known website linked to illegal child abuse content.
The device was then confiscated and sent to the Digital Forensic Unit for analysis, which confirmed the presence of indecent images of minors.
Contento faced charges and was convicted on three counts of producing indecent images of children and one count of breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
He was sentenced to a total of 10 years and 3 months in prison (an extended sentence), placed on the Sex Offender Register for life, subject to a Deprivation of Rights Order, and ordered to pay a fine of £288.
