ELGIN MAN HANDED JAIL-LIKE SUPERVISION AFTER ABUSIVE BEHAVIOR
An abusive partner, Krystian Pytlinski, 25, exhibited violent behavior towards his girlfriend, threatening her with a baseball bat while trashing their home in Elgin.According to reports, the incident occurred on October 20 of the previous year, starting around 2:30 pm when an argument escalated into physical violence.
Pytlinski waved the bat at her, shouting "you are going to pay for this," and proceeded to smash photographs and throw household items for about five hours until his partner fled at 7:30 pm and sought help from a neighbor.
She was found terrified and crying.
Police arrived, saw Pytlinski at the window wielding the bat, shouting and swearing, refusing entry initially but were eventually able to enter and disarm him after he struggled and kicked.
Pytlinski admitted charges of domestic assault, threatening behavior, resisting arrest, a breach of bail, and possession of a class B drug, which he had prior to this incident.
His defense claimed he was under the influence, which clouded his judgment, and noted he is making efforts to turn his life around, including a new job scheduled for next week.
The sheriff sentenced him to a one-year supervision order and 160 hours of unpaid work.
