KRISS KESSON BEXLEYHEATH ANIMAL NEGLECT HORROR

Kriss Kesson, a 60-year-old resident of Bexleyheath, appeared before the court following the disturbing discovery of severe animal neglect at his residence on Rydal Drive. The investigation was initiated after the RSPCA, accompanied by police officers, conducted a thorough inspection of his property and uncovered a heartbreaking scene involving multiple animals in dire condition.

Inside Kesson’s home, authorities found three Rhodesian Ridgebacks and one Dalmatian in a state of extreme starvation. The animals exhibited prominent ribs and hip bones, clearly indicating they had been deprived of adequate nutrition for an extended period. The distressing scene was compounded by the presence of two deceased puppies and a dead adult Rhodesian Ridgeback, all found within the premises. Kesson explained that the dog had died several days prior, claiming he was waiting for rigor mortis to pass before burying the animal. He also stated that the puppies had been dead for a few weeks, though he offered no explanation for their condition or the circumstances surrounding their deaths.

When questioned about the emaciation and the condition of the animals, Kesson attributed their suffering to his physical health issues, specifically citing a bad knee that limited his ability to exercise the dogs. He further claimed that this limitation led him to reduce their food intake, although this explanation was met with skepticism by the authorities. The remaining four dogs were seized and taken into the custody of the RSPCA for veterinary assessment. The vets concluded that the animals had been suffering from neglect for at least three weeks, with the situation deteriorating to the point where two of the dogs, Ozzy and Max, died during their care.

Kesson faced charges of causing unnecessary suffering to animals, to which he pleaded guilty. His sentencing included a 30-week prison term, suspended for one year, along with a ban on keeping dogs for a minimum of ten years. The court emphasized the prolonged period of neglect and criticized Kesson’s apparent lack of remorse. It was noted that he attempted to shift blame onto others for the animals’ deaths, despite being the owner responsible for their welfare. The judge condemned the neglectful behavior and his efforts to evade full responsibility, highlighting the seriousness of the case and the need for accountability in animal cruelty cases.
