2013: KIDDERMINSTER MAN JAILED OVER OBSESSION WITH WOMAN
A KIDDERMINSTER man has been jailed for 12 months because of his obsession with a woman, Worcester Crown Court was told.
Kieron Lavelle, 32, of Coniston House, Hurcott Road, pleaded guilty to breach of a suspended sentence and a restraining order imposed by Kidderminster magistrates.
Prosecutor Andrew Davidson said he had pestered Emma Walker by kicking her front door and making numerous telephone calls.
He also contacted her on facebook.
The couple had a stormy on-off violent relationship, he added.
Lavelle had tried to take her dog and had threatened to harm her father.
She did not want anything to do with him but he had called at her home, asking for cigarettes and money.
He had sent her facebook messages saying he missed her "like crazy" and she was his princess but she had rejected his advances and told him to "rot in hell." Lavelle, who had 48 convictions for 138 offences, was acting under the delusion that the girl still wanted to have contact with him.
Michael Aspinall, mitigating, said Lavell had a short duration of offending and the relationship was now dead.
He had breached the restraining order out of stupidity.
Judge Patrick Thomas QC said it should dawn upon Lavelle that the young woman no longer wanted anything to do with him.
"You don't seem to learn from experience," he said.
"There is a history of this girl complaining about your attention but still you try to pretend to yourself and others that it was really true love on both sides." The restraining order had been breached the day after it was imposed.
The order of the court had been treated with contempt and the girl had been left frightened and upset.
Lavelle would be given time off the sentence because he had been in custody since July but he would be subject to a 10-year restraining order as far as the girl was concerned.
