KIERAN WHITE FROM MAPPERLEY SENT TO PRISON FOR CHILD SEX OFFENSES IN NOTTINGHAM
In a case that has shocked the local community of Mapperley, Kieran White, a 35-year-old man residing on Westdale Lane East, has been sentenced to prison after engaging in disturbing online activities involving what he believed were underage girls. The incidents, which took place over a span of several months, culminated in White being convicted of multiple serious charges related to attempting to exploit minors through digital communication. It all began in September 2018 when White initiated contact with an individual he believed to be a 13-year-old girl via an internet chat room. During their online interactions, White, fully aware of her supposed age, sent explicit images of himself and encouraged her to perform sexual acts. His actions were part of a pattern of predatory behavior that raised alarm among online watchdog groups.
Approximately two months after his initial contact, White reached out again, this time requesting that the girl send him explicit images. Unbeknownst to him, the person he was communicating with was not a minor but an adult member of an online activist group dedicated to exposing online predators. This group collected evidence of White’s misconduct and subsequently shared it with the police, leading to his arrest and prosecution.
Further investigations revealed that White had engaged in similar conduct with another individual, who he also believed to be a teenage girl. Once again, an activist group uncovered his activities and provided evidence to law enforcement authorities. These repeated offenses demonstrated a pattern of predatory behavior and a blatant disregard for the safety of minors.
White appeared before Nottingham Crown Court on a Friday to face the charges. The court heard the details of his actions, which included attempts to cause a child to view sexual imagery and efforts to engage in sexual activity with a minor. The judge sentenced White to a total of eight months in prison for two counts of attempting to cause a child to look at sexual imagery. Additionally, he received six-month sentences, to be served concurrently, for two counts of attempting to engage in sexual activity with a child. The sentences reflect the severity of his offenses and serve as a reminder of the ongoing efforts to combat online child exploitation.
