A MAN WHO SEXUALLY ASSAULTED A 13-YEAR-OLD BOY IN HIS OWN HOME ON CHRISTMAS DAY HAS BEEN JAILED
A man who sexually assaulted a 13-year-old boy in his own home on Christmas Day has been sentenced to four years in prison.Kieran Seery, 31, of Dowry Street, Accrington, was sentenced today (June 8) at Burnley Crown Court.
In addition to his prison term, Seery was issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order that will remain in effect for 15 years.
This follows a trial last month in which Seery was found guilty of sexual assault.
The incident took place in the early hours of December 25, 2019, after Seery had attended a Christmas Eve gathering at the victim's house and was later allowed to stay overnight.
The boy was sleeping when Seery woke him and carried out the assault before fleeing the residence around 8 a.m.
He was subsequently arrested two days later in Greater Manchester after a public appeal for assistance in locating him.
