MAN JAILED FOR SEXUALLY ASSAULTING WOMAN WHILE SHE SLEPT
In June 2024, Jason Brown took advantage of a woman after she had a few drinks and fell asleep.The authorities learned that the defendant and victim knew each other at the time of the offenses.
The victim drank two beverages one before and one after eating and then fell asleep on a sofa at a house in Accrington.
She later awoke to find her Lower garments had been removed and that she was being assaulted by Brown.
When she reported the incident some days later, Lancashire Police initiated an investigation.
Brown was arrested, and during an interview, he admitted that the woman could not consent to the sexual acts due to her state.
The 31-year-old, formerly of Broadfield Road in Accrington, admitted to two charges of assaulting a female by penetration last month.
He appeared at Preston Crown Court Sessions House on 17th March for sentencing and received a sentence of six years and ten months in prison.
