NORWICH OFFENDER SENTENCED FOR ATTEMPTED RAPE AND ASSAULT
A man named Kieran Hawkshaw, aged 25 and residing in Murrells Court, Norwich, admitted to attempted rape and causing actual bodily harm to a woman on Drayton Road, Norwich, in September 2015.The incident occurred as the victim, a 26-year-old woman, was walking along the road when Hawkshaw, who had been drinking heavily, grabbed her, ripped her trousers off, and punched her multiple times while she was on her back.
A jogger intervened after noticing Hawkshaw on the side of the road and the victim's injuries.
Hawkshaw was later arrested by the police, and he made a full admission of guilt.
He appeared at Norwich Crown Court via video link and will be sentenced after reports are prepared, with the hearing scheduled for November 13.
Judge Katharine Moore praised the bravery of Charlotte White, a woman who assisted the victim, awarding her £400 for her quick thinking.
Hawkshaw was given an extended 14-year prison sentence for his crimes.
