KIERAN ALI FROM HAMILTON CAUGHT IN SHOCKING FACEBOOK PERVERSION IN SCOTLAND

In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community in Hamilton, Kieran Ali, a 26-year-old man, was involved in a serious online misconduct that led to his arrest and subsequent sentencing.

The incident unfolded in March 2021 when Ali was caught offering money to schoolgirls in exchange for topless photographs through social media, specifically Facebook.

Ali had initiated conversations with five young girls on Facebook, engaging them with inappropriate and depraved messages.

Despite being told that some of these girls were as young as 12 years old, he persistently asked for explicit photos, demonstrating a clear disregard for their age and well-being.

Unbeknownst to Ali, he was communicating with members of a paedophile hunter group, who were operating undercover to identify and catch online predators.

These volunteers posed as minors to lure suspects like Ali into revealing their intentions.

The paedophile hunters tracked Ali to a restaurant where he was employed and live streamed the confrontation on Facebook, exposing his actions to the public and authorities.

Following this, Ali was arrested and released on bail.

However, he did not cease contact with the vigilantes and later re-engaged with them, prompting more vigilant citizens to visit his family home in Hamilton.

This escalation underscored the seriousness of his actions and the community’s concern.

During police interviews, Ali initially denied any involvement in sending inappropriate messages.

He claimed that his work colleague had stolen his phone and was responsible for the messages, attempting to shift blame.

Nevertheless, he later admitted, “I should have stopped it.

I have not actually slept with a 14-year-old girl,” indicating some level of remorse or acknowledgment of his misconduct.

Ali appeared before Hamilton Sheriff Court, where he pleaded guilty to charges of sending sexual messages and images to individuals he believed to be children, between May and December 2019.

The depute fiscal, Jennifer McCabe, explained that the witnesses involved in the case were volunteers from a paedophile hunter group who posed as children to trap suspected offenders.

She detailed that Ali was identified by these volunteers before they approached him, with the entire operation being live streamed on Facebook for transparency and evidence.

In his police interview, Ali used the alias Kieran Taylor on social media and expressed disgust at the idea of 25-year-olds communicating with 14-year-olds, calling it “disgusting” and “wrong.” He admitted to sending the messages but claimed he could not remember doing so, suggesting that his colleague might have been responsible.

Ali explained that he had reported his phone missing but later found it, which added to the confusion surrounding the case.

The court, presided over by Sheriff Daniel Kelly QC, decided to defer sentencing until next month, considering Ali’s status as a first-time offender.

He was remanded in custody and placed on the sex offenders’ register, reflecting the gravity of his actions and the community’s need for protection from such offenders.
