Kevin Wright, a man from Long Eaton, has been handed a six-year prison sentence after being found guilty of sexually abusing two young girls over a period exceeding four years.

The abuse began when the victims were just ten years old, and during this time, Wright engaged in a pattern of coercive and exploitative behavior that caused significant harm.

Prosecutors revealed that Wright used manipulative tactics to maintain control over the young girls, including giving them gifts such as a Madonna poster as a form of reward for engaging in sexual acts.

These gifts served as a means of coercion, further entrenching the victims' vulnerability and complicity in the abuse.

In addition to the primary allegations, Wright was also linked to a separate incident involving an attempted rape, highlighting a disturbing pattern of predatory behavior.

The court heard evidence of his manipulative tactics and the emotional and psychological damage inflicted upon the victims.

As part of the sentencing, the court imposed a lifelong requirement for Wright to register as a sex offender.
