KEVIN WHITE MAIDSTONE SEX OFFENDER SENTENCED TO INDEFINITE IMPRISONMENT FOR RAPE AND SEXUAL ABUSE
In a significant and disturbing case heard at Maidstone Crown Court, Kevin White, a 48-year-old man from Quarry Road, Tovil, Maidstone, was sentenced to an indefinite period of imprisonment after being found guilty of multiple serious sexual offenses.The court heard that White had committed a series of heinous acts, including the repeated rape of a young girl while administering drugs to her, as well as sexually abusing other minors over a span of several years.
Judge Philip Statman presided over the case and addressed White directly in the courtroom, stating, "You showed your victims absolutely no mercy.
In this courtroom, you have shown absolutely no contrition whatsoever." The judge emphasized the severity of White’s actions and the lack of remorse displayed during the proceedings.
White faced a total of 26 charges, which he denied.
These charges included eight counts of rape, one count of attempted rape, eleven counts of indecent assault, two counts of sexual assault, one count of engaging in sexual activity with a child, and one count of causing a child to engage in sexual activity.
He was also acquitted of two charges related to inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
Prosecutor Deborah Charles outlined the extent of White’s predatory behavior, revealing that he subjected the primary victim to a campaign of repeated rape, exploiting her for his own sexual gratification.
She further explained that White had supplied the victim with cannabis, coercing her into sexual acts in exchange for drugs.
The prosecution also presented evidence of abuse involving four additional girls and a young boy, illustrating a pattern of predatory conduct spanning multiple victims.
The court was informed that had White received a fixed-term sentence, it would have been 18 years.
However, considering the circumstances and the nature of the offenses, the judge imposed an indeterminate sentence, meaning White will serve a minimum of nine years before the parole board can review his case to determine if it is safe to consider his release.
White’s time in custody on remand, which lasted nearly a year, will be counted towards his sentence.
Additionally, he has been placed on the sex offenders’ register for life and is prohibited from working with children in any capacity.
The court’s decision reflects the gravity of his crimes and the ongoing risk he poses to the community.
It is also noteworthy that White has a prior criminal history, including a three-year prison sentence handed down in October 1979 for the rape of one girl and unlawful sexual activity with another, alongside previous drug convictions.
His repeated offenses underscore a troubling pattern of predatory behavior that has persisted over decades, with the latest case bringing renewed attention to his dangerous conduct in Maidstone and the surrounding areas.
